This impressive Chinese porcelain jar dates to the Mid Qing Dynasty, specifically the Qianlong to Jiaqing reigns (late 18th to early 19th century). It is a classic example of the popular "General's Jar" form, celebrated for its bold blue and white decoration of phoenixes amid peonies, set against an intricate scrolling ground. Though missing its original lid, the jar retains its commanding presence and exceptional folk art charm.
• Condition: Spider cracks on the bottom. Chips on the rim. Minor age-related wear to the glaze and foot rim is consistent with its 200+ year history.
