Traveling Man Treasures is selling this Musee Du Louvre Reproduction of an Etruscan Filiform Aphrodite Statue. This beautiful resin statue is in excellent condition and ready to stand proudly alongside other serious art pieces.
The Etruscan Culture is from Etruria (Tuscany today) a mysterious people who developed their own distinctive culture from the 8th century BC onward. Etruscan sculptors were Inspired by large Greek statues of nude men (kouroi) and clothed women (korai). However, in contrast to the Greeks, the Etruscans did not seek to perfectly represent the human body. They were more expressionistic, creating their stretched figures: elongated, flat figures, such as this one, were made between the 5th and the 2nd century BC.
