1972 Limited Edition collector plate from Robert Haviland C. Parlon, Limoges, France. Edition N°2 in the six-plate "La Chasse à la Licorne" (The Hunt of the Unicorn) series, released annually from 1971-1976. This plate depicts "Start of the Hunt"—hunters and hounds entering the forest.
The series reproduces the famous 15th-century Unicorn Tapestries now held at The Cloisters in New York. Deep jewel-tone background with polychrome detailing and gold gilt edge—classic Limoges craftsmanship.
