Lucite is a brand name for polymethyl methacrylate: archival-quality, acid-free, non-PVC acrylic polymer. It isn't brittle. There's no film coating. If Lucite is scratched, it can be polished & buffed back to new. Brillianize & Novus are great.
This is the most substantial, hardy, and display-friendly card holder available. Vintage cards and pen/marker inks are especially vulnerable to UV and fluorescent light. Grading companies don't advertise UV protection because they don't prioritize it. 17% was the highest among the top 4 companies. Plastic poster frames do more. The sigh of relief when your card or autograph is safely encased is sublime. Why not enjoy and preserve your card at the same time?
