This pair of shakers is 3" tall and 1 3/4" across the base. This one has been difficult to identify. I found only one after viewing over a thousand and gave up. I did find another similar constructed shaker with the same lid. Neither identified the makers. This is clearly an early shaker using the prescut method and that takes it back to the late 1800s or early 1900s. That is fairly certain. It has a pressed silver cap and not silver plate. There is a clear pontil mark on the bottom so they hand fired it after blowing it into the mold, probably to thread the top. These are very nice shakers well made. The lids shown signs of wear and patina. D11
