This is a beautiful hand-painted covered sugar bowl made of fine Limoges porcelain from France, dating to the late 19th to early 20th century. It features detailed hand-painted poppy flowers in rich pink and red tones with dark centers and soft green leaves, showing visible brushwork rather than decal decoration. The design is accented with ornate, hand-applied gold gilt along the rim, lid, handles, and base.
The piece has elegant double handles and a matching domed lid with a sculpted finial, reflecting classic French turn-of-the-century craftsmanship. The underside is marked Limoges France with a decorator’s mark, supporting early production.
This is in very good vintage condition with some wear to the gold gilt, consistent with age and gentle use. No cracks or chips noted.
