This expressive folk art piece features a mythic ox figure, with a sculpted ox head, curved horns, and legs with hooves, rendered in a bold, stylized form typical of Central American folk pottery. Finished in rich terra-cotta red slip with black painted accents, and hand-inscribed on the underside “San Vicente, Costa Rica,” confirming authentic regional origin.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with one small chip at the rim, which is common for soft-clay, hand-built pottery and does not affect display or stability.
