This hand-forged folk art crucifix depicts a stylized Jesus figure formed from solid steel rod, bent and twisted into an elongated human body with outstretched arms and a tightly coiled torso. A looped crown of barbed wire encircles the head, reinforcing the crucifixion imagery while giving the piece a stark, outsider-art presence. The surface shows natural darkened patina, heat marks, and oxidation consistent with hand-worked steel.
The construction is intentionally raw. Welds, bends, and tool marks remain visible, with no attempt to refine or polish the form.
