This mid-century cast metal figurine is a museum-quality example of American political satire produced by the legendary Dodge Inc. (founded by Olympian Ray E. Dodge).
Dodge Inc. was the original manufacturer of the Academy Award (Oscar) from 1930–1950 and the first Emmy Award in 1949. This piece utilizes the same "Dodge Bronze" plating and antiquing techniques found on the early Oscar and Emmy statuettes, representing the "gold standard" of 20th-century American trophy casting. A variation of this satirical motif is held in the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library (Item MO 63.4100).
Manufacturer: Dodge Inc. (Original foil label intact: Los Angeles – Newark – Miami).
Circa: Late 1940s – early 1950s.
Dimensions: 5" L x 5" H x 3" W.
Weight: 11.04 oz.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The metallic luster is exceptionally well-preserved. Includes original green felt base and the rare three-city manufacturer’s gold label.
