Signed first edition, second printing hardcover copy of My Pride and Joy by George Adamson (Collins Harvill, 1987). Signed and inscribed in a shaky hand by the infamous British wildlife conservationist and author largely based in Kenya, also known as Baba ya Simba. Husband of Joy Adamson who wrote the memoir, Born Free about their life, which was later adapted to film. Here is the memoir of George, richly supplemented with photographs of their life among the lions in Africa.

Jacket protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with some rubbing/scuffing to faces and wear around the edges. Small tear near center of dj spine with fading to spine as well. Boards slightly bowed and with some faint creases. Corners bumped. Small tear to top left corner of front board along joint. A few instances of mildly split binding though spine is fairly straight and binding remains strong on the whole. Tanning/foxing to outer edges of text block with faint waviness to pages, likely from humidity.
