Wounaan Embera Rainforest Basket Vtg. Tightly Woven Native Artistry Cream Brown. Measures about 8.5 in. tall and at least 6 in. wide at widest point. Each basket is different due to the weaving and materials.

This is a handwoven Wounaan Emberá basket. 

* The baskets are crafted by the Wounaan and Emberá peoples from Panama and Colombia, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. 

* They are woven from natural fibers, typically chunga palm leaves for the body and nahuala for the coil, and dyed using natural materials like roots, berries, and bark from the rainforest. 

* The fine, coiled technique is known as hösig di in the Wounmeu language, and intricate designs can take months or even years to complete. 

* The baskets carry both practical and cultural significance, used for storage and transport, as well as symbols of their rich heritage.
