This is a wool material made in Bishu, using fine count yarn as the core and attaching thick count yarn to create a cable shape.
The area centered around Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, from the western Owari area of Aichi Prefecture to the Seino area of Gifu Prefecture is called "Bishu."
The fertile soil created by the abundant water of the Kiso River flowing through Bishu is ideal for growing mulberry fields and cotton fields necessary for sericulture. Thanks to the benefits of the Kiso River, such as soft water suitable for dyeing, processing, and finishing textiles, Bishu has developed as a major wool textile production area in Japan.
The undulation of the yarn, which is a characteristic of cable yarn, can be maximized even with a basic knit fabric like jersey, creating a textured surface.
Since it is a thick count yarn of 1/3 count, the shape of the yarn is very easy to see, and it has a strong presence.
