Original cast-iron strap-mounted pole number plate with raised numerals 84-18. Curved “saddle” profile made to wrap a round post; on the back you can see the hinged keeper and square anti-twist boss used to tighten a steel band. These were used on streetlights/telephone or utility poles in the early–mid 1900s.
