This is a Mid-Century Modern green glass vase designed by Bo Borgström for Åseda Glass in Sweden. It is often referred to as a "Water Tower" vase or a "Bamboo" vase due to its shape. The vase has a light green color on the upper part, with a clear glass base. These vases are considered vintage and were produced in the 1960s and 1970s.
Åseda Glasbruk was a Swedish glassworks founded in 1947 by Gunnar Nilsson and Nils Andersson. Located in the Småland region of Sweden, known for its long glass-making tradition, the company became famous in the 1960s and 1970s for its colorful and modern art glass.
The company's chief designer, Bo Borgström, joined in 1961. He was previously a ceramics artist and became known for his contemporary designs with soft lines, bright colors, and thick glass walls. Other designers who worked for Åseda included Ake Pernby and Vicke Lindstrand.
In excellent vintage condition. Faint surface scratches from everyday use and age.
